Vincent Epplay is both a visual artist and a musician who conceives and builds sound environments. Through his installations and live interventions, he has been questioning the connection between sound and image, the display context (duration, place) and the relation with the “audio-viewer”

He generates objects, situations and contexts wherein tiny flaws, slides, incongruities come to disrupt our listening habits: Corridors whisper - Voices can be heard in the Paris Metro - A digital clock is equipped with a different ring tone for each minute of the day.

In the phone booths, one must keep silent in order to listen. A mobile radio station is carried in a light-gray flight case on wheels, together with mini radio sets, free to use to listen to RadioShack. An infinite audio CD and a jukebox without a playlist. A few speaking rocks and buried speakers that will bloom in the Spring
